Can You Change from a Student Visa to an Entertainer (Kogyo) Visa?

Questions about work visas for foreign employees
Japan Immigration Support for HRWork Visa Q&A for Foreign EmployeesChange of Status from Student to Entertainer Visa
Our company operates a modeling agency in Tokyo. We recently scouted an Italian woman with outstanding potential and wish to support her career. However, she currently holds a Student visa, which restricts her ability to engage in full-scale modeling work. She intends to withdraw from school to focus on modeling. Is it possible to change her status from a Student visa to the Entertainer (Kogyo) Visa?
The Entertainer (Kogyo) Visa is intended to invite professional foreign artists and talents who are already active overseas to perform in Japan and provide entertainment to the public. Because of this purpose, applicants without a concrete, documented professional track record will find it extremely difficult to obtain approval. In the case described, the likelihood of approval after application would be very low.

We recommend reconsidering the planned activities and exploring alternative approaches.
